Everything we know about Andrew’s new home as prince is stripped of all his titles

Part 1 of 2

After a dramatic 24 hours that saw Prince Andrew officially stripped of his royal titles and ordered to vacate his home, attention has now turned to where the disgraced royal will live next.

Now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the former Duke of York has been instructed by King Charles to leave Royal Lodge “as soon as is practicable.” Though he won’t be left homeless, his new residence will be far smaller and significantly less grand to reflect his downgraded status.

Since 2004, Andrew has lived at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. The property was once the home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who lived there until her death in 2002.

The 30-room mansion, surrounded by 100 acres of land, underwent a £7.5 million ($10 million) renovation as part of Andrew’s 75-year lease agreement. However, his right to remain there officially ends in October 2025 following the King’s order.

Why He’s Being Evicted

Once thought to be Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite son, Andrew’s removal follows escalating criticism of his publicly funded lifestyle and his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The prince stepped down from royal duties in 2019 after Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims, accused him of having sex with her when she was 17. Andrew has consistently denied the claims but settled the case in 2022 for around $15 million.

Despite the settlement, his reputation never recovered. The ongoing controversy overshadowed the work of King Charles and other senior royals, leaving his position within the monarchy untenable.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace confirmed:
