At the age of 53, Barbara Anderson was floored when a pregnancy test confirmed she was expecting. The unexpected news became even more surprising when her doctor, Dr. Carter, revealed during an ultrasound, “Do you hear the heartbeats, Mrs. Anderson? You’re pregnant with twins!”

Barbara was stunned. Already a mother and a grandmother to two girls, she hadn’t anticipated having more children at her age. Worried and overwhelmed, she asked the doctor, “Can we terminate the pregnancy?”
Dr. Carter’s response only deepened her anxiety. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Anderson. It’s too late. Your reports indicate complications, and you’re likely to deliver prematurely. Abortion could be life-threatening for you.”
Devastated, Barbara confided in her daughter Melanie, who initially thought it was a joke. Once Melanie saw the ultrasound reports, however, she realized her mother was serious. “Oh my goodness, Mom! This is unbelievable! What have you decided to do?”
Barbara explained her reluctance but admitted she had no choice but to continue the pregnancy. Melanie reassured her, saying, “If God has placed you in this situation, He will guide you through it. Don’t worry, Mom. I’m here for you.”

From that day, Melanie stepped up as a supportive daughter, regularly visiting Barbara and caring for her during the pregnancy. Her husband, Josh, also helped, joining Melanie on hospital visits.
However, the family’s bond faced an unexpected strain when the twins were born prematurely. When the nurse brought the babies to meet their family, both Melanie and Josh noticed something peculiar: the babies had identical birthmarks on their shoulders—birthmarks that matched Josh’s.
Melanie’s joy quickly turned into anger. “How is this possible? Josh, did you cheat on me with my mother?” she cried.
Shocked by the accusation, Josh stammered, “What? Are you crazy, Melanie? I would never do that!”

But Melanie was inconsolable. “Don’t lie to me, Josh! Those birthmarks are the same as yours. I can’t believe this!”
Ignoring Josh’s attempts to explain, Melanie stormed into Barbara’s hospital room. Her face was red with tears and anger.
“Mom, how could you? Did you and Josh…?”
