Among these, one of the most polarizing and far-reaching is an order titled “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.”
This directive, which profoundly affects non-binary individuals, notably those who benefited from the option of selecting an “X” gender marker on passports—a policy implemented during the Biden administration—has sparked an intense national debate about identity, inclusion, and the government’s role in personal recognition.
