5 Devices In Your Home Consume The Most Electricity, Twice As Much As Air Conditioners! Remember To Unplug!

3. Hot/Cold Water Dispensers

Many households have switched to hot and cold water dispensers instead of traditional electric kettles due to their convenience. These dispensers provide hot water in winter and cold water in summer, making them especially useful for those who drink tea, coffee, or eat instant noodles frequently.

However, to maintain the desired water temperature, these dispensers use about 700-1,200 W, depending on the manufacturer and capacity. If left plugged in continuously, they can consume 40-100 kWh per month. It is recommended to unplug the water dispenser at night to save energy and reduce the risk of fire.

4. Clothes Dryers

During the rainy and humid seasons, particularly in spring in the North, many families rely on dryers to keep clothes fresh and clean. However, dryers are also high energy consumers. The most common models, with an 8 kg capacity, can use 75-140 kWh per month if used daily for 1-2 hours. Advanced models with heat pumps consume less power.

5. Desktop Computers

Desktop computers, alongside laptops, are common in many households. Their power consumption ranges from 35-450 W, with some high-performance models reaching up to 1,000 W. On average, desktop computers consume over 70 kWh per month, according to EVN. To conserve energy, it’s recommended to unplug computers when not in use.

By being mindful of these appliances and unplugging them when not needed, households can reduce their electricity consumption and lower their energy bills.
