A woman has sparked a fierce debate on social media after confronting a child who poured water over her cat.
It would be an understatement to say pet owners can be protective of their animals.
I mean it makes sense, for many owners, they are considered part of the family.
But a woman has sparked a debate on X as people question whether her payback went too far.

Shannon Cooper from Edinburgh, Scotland, explained how she responded when she found out her neighbor had poured water all over her cat.
Writing in a post on X back in 2020, she said: “My 10 year old neighbour just threw a cup of water over my cat who was sitting on the fence minding his own business n laughed so I threw a basin of water over him from the window and now his dad is at my door going mental but I don’t see the problem, don’t touch my cat.”
Some social media users were quick to defend her actions while others condemned her.

“It’s v childish how you handled it you should had told the parents first so that they could punish their own kid… Like no that wouldn’t hurt a kid but at the same time as a parent myself I’D LIKE TO HANDLE MY KID,” one user wrote.
