The sweet meaning behind Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s eldest child’s name has finally been shared — and it’s absolutely adorable.
According to the Duchess of Sussex, both Archie, now five, and his younger sister Lilibet, three, were given names that she and Prince Harry carefully considered.
From the choice of their surname — something Meghan touched on in her lifestyle podcast With Love, Meghan — to their first names, each one holds a special meaning.
But it’s Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s middle name that’s catching particular attention.
Interestingly, before Archie was born, his name wasn’t on anyone’s radar — not even among the top predictions from bookmakers.

It was a name that quickly gained public support once it was revealed.
Even though it doesn’t seem to have any direct royal ties or honor any historical figures, his middle name actually holds some connection.
The name Archie means “bold” or “brave,” while Harrison adds a more personal and heartwarming touch — it means “son of Harry.”
Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, explained to the BBC: “Archie has a very British ring to it, while Harrison feels more American. The first Harrison that comes to mind is Harrison Ford.
“They clearly wanted to choose something a bit different — and they’ve succeeded.”
