Interestingly, in the royal family, both first and middle names are entirely chosen by the parents — and so is the surname.
Prince Harry used to go by Harry Wales, since his father once held the title Prince of Wales.

When Harry and Meghan became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the whole family adopted the Sussex name after moving to the U.S.
Meghan even referred to Harry, Archie, Lilibet, and herself as “little Sussexes” on her show.
Although the couple received their Sussex titles right away, their children, Archie and Lilibet, were initially given the surname Mountbatten-Windsor, in line with the late Queen’s preference.
Meghan shared, “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children. I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
Speaking about motherhood, she added, “When your children get to a certain age – when you’re not just playing in the sandbox with them but almost playing in your own sandbox again – it’s super joyful.
As a woman, a mom and a wife, to be able to find yourself again – in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn’t put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older – is a wonderful feeling.”
Her lifestyle series includes appearances from several celebrities like Mindy Kaling. Despite its traditional tone, Meghan says she doesn’t see herself as a “tradwife.”
“I like being able to do a hybrid,” she said. “But even when I get takeout, I will try to plate it beautifully. The series is about doing what you can do and doing it with love.”
