Clove & Lemon Collagen Drink: Wrinkle Free and Glowing Skin

Part 2 of 2
  • Cool slightly:
Turn off the heat and let the infusion sit for 2 minutes. This helps preserve vitamin C when lemon is added.

  • Strain and enrich:
Pour the infusion through a fine sieve into a mug or heat-safe glass. Stir in honey, lemon juice, black pepper, mint leaves, and optional aloe-vera juice.

  • Top-up:
Add 50 ml room-temperature water to bring the drink to a pleasantly warm temperature, suitable for sipping.

  • How and When to Drink

    • Morning glow: Sip slowly on an empty stomach to maximize nutrient absorption and stimulate digestion.
    • Hydration boost: Follow with a full glass of water; vitamin C aids in hydration and skin plumpness.
    • Frequency: 4–5 days per week; cycle off two days to avoid flavor fatigue.
    • Storage: Refrigerate up to 24 hours if making a larger batch. Rewarm gently; avoid boiling to preserve enzymes and vitamin C.

    Optional twists:

    • Add 1 tsp chia seeds for omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
    • Swap mint for holy basil (tulsi) during monsoon season for antimicrobial support.

Benefits of the Clove-and-Lemon Collagen Drink

    • Stimulates collagen synthesis: Vitamin C from lemon works with clove antioxidants to support collagen formation, helping smooth fine lines and firm skin.
    • Fights premature aging: Curcumin in turmeric inhibits elastase (the enzyme that breaks down elastin), while gingerols reduce chronic inflammation, both key factors in wrinkle formation.
    • Brightens complexion: Raw honey contains enzymes and polyphenols that naturally even skin tone and impart a dewy glow.
    • Improves nutrient absorption: Piperine in black pepper enhances the bioavailability of curcumin and minerals, ensuring every sip delivers maximum benefit.
    • Supports gut-skin health: Mint promotes digestion, reduces bloating, and helps maintain clearer skin via improved detox pathways.
    • Enhances skin elasticity: Aloe-vera juice may reduce facial wrinkles and increase collagen content when consumed regularly.
