Madonna, in collaboration with creative director Lewis James and musical director Stuart Price, has designed an extraordinary stage experience for her 12th world tour, celebrating her illustrious career spanning four decades. Rather than opting for a conventional band or singer, she selected Bob the Drag Queen, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8, to open her concerts.
Despite facing significant health challenges, such as knee and hip injuries that caused 14 show cancellations during her 2019-2020 Madame X Tour, Madonna has remained determined. The COVID-19 pandemic also added to the difficulties, but she persevered, undergoing knee surgery in April 2020, followed by hip surgery in November 2020, and receiving regenerative treatment for “missing cartilage,” according to the Mirror.
Looking to the future, Madonna is set to direct her own biopic, Little Sparrow, produced by Universal Pictures, with actress Julia Garner, a three-time Emmy winner, taking on the lead role.
Working alongside Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody on the script, Madonna later enlisted Erin Wilson, an Independent Spirit Award winner, after Cody left the project. The film will delve into Madonna’s remarkable career and personal life.
