Harry and Meghan reportedly facing ‘suffer the consequences’ after their sh0cking move toward Royal

Part 1 of 2

As Sussex residents marked their county’s special day on June 16 with pride and celebration, one notable absence sparked renewed debate online: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex themselves. Once again, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made no public acknowledgment of Sussex Day—an omission that didn’t go unnoticed.

While the couple officially stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and now live thousands of miles away in California, they still hold their royal titles, which were conferred upon them by the late Queen Elizabeth II following their 2018 wedding. And it’s precisely those titles that have reignited public scrutiny.

What Is Sussex Day—and Why Does It Matter?

Sussex Day, celebrated annually, is more than just a nod to a geographic location. It’s a cultural celebration that honors the county’s rich heritage, community spirit, and historical identity. Events across the region include music, food, parades, and local initiatives that bring people together in pride and tradition.

For many, especially residents of Sussex, the idea that the Duke and Duchess consistently fail to recognize this day feels symbolic of their growing distance—both literal and emotional—from the place their titles represent.

Former MP Weighs In

Among the critics was Tim Loughton, former Member of Parliament for East Worthing and Shoreham. Speaking to MailOnline, he said it was “underwhelming” that the pair did not acknowledge the region even in a small gesture. “Wishing Sussex residents a happy Sussex Day is hardly a tall order,” he commented.
