He Chose Money Over Love …But Justice Came Knocking

Part 2 of 2

“There’s no inheritance because I’m not my father’s biological daughter. He adopted me a year before my mom died. He loved me as his own but never planned to leave me his wealth. I’ve known this my whole life.”

Bradd’s demeanor changed instantly. Within a month, divorce papers arrived.

But Sarah’s father had one final move to make.

A family acquaintance, once a partner in her father’s firm, invited Sarah and Bradd to dinner, revealing the true terms of the will:

– If Bradd stayed married to Sarah for at least five years after her father’s death, he would receive half the inheritance.
– If they divorced before then, Sarah would get everything.

Bradd sat in stunned silence, his face shifting from pale to red and back again. Sarah, however, smiled, knowing her father had outsmarted him.

“In that moment, I realized my father had protected me even from beyond the grave,” she said. “He could finally rest, knowing I was free from that lazy, greedy man.”

Sarah never saw Bradd again.

With her father’s wisdom guiding her, she built her own success, free of opportunists.

In the end, her father had been right—about hard work, about wealth, and about Bradd.

And Sarah? She thrived. Without Bradd. Without shortcuts. Without regret.
