Julia Roberts has been married to her husband for 20 years – inside their relationship

Part 1 of 2

One of the most well-known actresses in the world is probably Julia Roberts. Throughout the 1990s, her films ruled the box office, and she is still a major player in Hollywood today.

Nonetheless, she encountered a few bumps in her personal life before finding the partner she deemed to be “the one…

Julia Roberts frequently portrayed characters who were wary or terrified of getting married. Similar to her well-known part in Runaway Bride, she struggled to find love and was even engaged to a number of well-known actors before she bit the bullet and found love. The actress notably split up with Kiefer Sutherland and Liam Neeson in the past.

She was originally connected to Liam Neeson in 1987, but their relationship ended a year later. Following that, she started seeing Dylan McDermott and allegedly got engaged to him. However, this also failed, which led her to start dating Keifer Sutherland. But a few years after meeting Keifer, she also broke things off with him.

Roberts shocked everyone by getting married to Lyle Lovett in 1993 after two consecutively broken engagements. However, the marriage did not last, and the pair filed for divorce in 1995. The actress afterwards started dating a number of Hollywood actors, and while working on the sets of The Mexican.

Moder was not as well-known as her former partners, but the actress seemed unconcerned by this fact. Nevertheless, there was one issue. When Moder first met Roberts, he was still wed to his first wife, Vera Steimberg. But, his marriage ended soon after, and he went on to have a lovely relationship with Roberts.

In 2002, the couple exchanged vows. Also, amid their more than 20 years of marriage, they welcomed their twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, as well as son Henry.

While Roberts is notoriously private about her personal life, in 2018 she shared with Gwyneth Paltrow on the GOOP podcast how Moder made her feel. She said, “I think that first kind of real ‘seismic shift’ was meeting Danny, getting married to Danny… that was the first ‘my life will never be the same’ in the most incredible, indescribable way.”
