According to lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman, a viral clip circulating on social media appears to show Kate turning to the person on her left and seemingly saying, “Thanks.”
She then reportedly turns to William, commenting that the celebrations are “so lovely.”
Freeman—who shared his analysis exclusively with Tyla—claimed that William responds with, “Not bad, right?”
Kate’s appearance wasn’t the only one drawing attention today—her father-in-law, King Charles III, also had people talking.
Back in February last year, just weeks before the Princess revealed her diagnosis, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the 76-year-old monarch had been diagnosed with cancer.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” a statement at the time revealed.
“Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
The latest update on the King’s health came in September, when Palace officials confirmed that His Majesty’s treatment had been progressing well. They described it as a “managed condition” and stated that the treatment cycle would continue into the following year.
The statement also conveyed a hopeful outlook: “There is a sense of optimism, which can be seen in the King’s desire to keep up a busy schedule of public engagements, including during the festive period.”
