More celebrities have shared their heartbreaking experiences

Paris Hilton posted a heartfelt update on Instagram, describing the moment she saw her Malibu home burn down on live television. “Heartbroken beyond words,” Hilton wrote. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”

Anna Faris also lost her Los Angeles home. A representative confirmed that Faris and her family “are safe and very grateful.”

Anthony Hopkins‘ home in Pacific Palisades was among the many luxury properties destroyed. A photo obtained by Page Six showed the house reduced to rubble.

Actor John Goodman also lost his Los Angeles home, with no part of it left standing, according to a photo obtained by Page Six.

Eugene Levy, honorary mayor of a celebrity-filled LA neighborhood, found himself in a dangerous situation as the fire approached. “The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” Levy told the LA Times. “I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark.”

Unfortunately, Levy’s home did not survive, with only a few wooden posts remaining, according to Page Six.

TV host and cookbook author Sandra Lee confirmed that her Malibu home was destroyed. In an emotional Instagram reel, she thanked her followers for their well wishes but shared her overwhelming sadness. “I don’t have a home anymore. My house is gone. It’s literally gone,” she tearfully said. “I’ve been crying all night. Thank God everybody is safe.”

English actress Kate Beckinsale also shared her heartbreak on Instagram after evacuating her Pacific Palisades home, where she lived for much of her daughter’s childhood.

Devastating Wildfires

The wildfires have left entire communities in ruins. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, at least five people have died, with numerous significant injuries reported.

The LA County Fire Department confirmed that over 26,000 acres have burned across the region, destroying more than 1,000 structures.

The Palisades Fire, the largest of the active wildfires, could become the costliest wildfire in history, according to climate scientist Daniel Swain from the University of California, Los Angeles.

“It is plausible that the Palisades Fire, in particular, will become the costliest on record period, not just in California, but in general,” Swain noted, highlighting the unprecedented destruction. This fire has claimed a record number of homes and businesses, deepening the devastation.

With thousands of emergency responses ongoing and the fires still blazing, Los Angeles faces a long road to recovery. Yet, the messages from those affected reflect a shared determination to rebuild and support each other during this crisis.
