Meghan is no stranger to baby showers after holding her own lavish bash back in 2019 just before son Prince Archie, who is now five, was born. She spent five days in New York City with pals Serena Williams and Amal Clooney. American television presenter Gayle King secured a place on the very selective guest list and revealed details about the special event.
Gayle said: “I hope she won’t mind me sharing this because I’ve never seen anything like this at a baby shower. They did flower decorations, they had flower arranging, they brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers. We all each made an individual vase and then Meghan got in touch with an organisation I’ve never heard of, Repeat Roses, and all of those were donated to different charities.
“I thought that was a very sweet thing, it just speaks to who she is, she’s very kind, she’s very generous and a really, really sweet person.” She added: “It was a very small, private affair and just a very special time for her.”
The baby shower comes as Meghan and Harry prepare to celebrate Christmas without the royals at their home in California. Meghan recently opened up about their holiday plans telling Marie Claire magazine that with children at Christmas “every year it gets better.”
She said: “At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she said. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
