In that tribute, she recalled adopting him from a Canadian dog rescue in 2015 when he was frail and weak, immediately calling him “the little guy.”

“He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom… he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort,” Meghan wrote at the time, adding that she hoped fans would “fall a little bit in love too.” Guy had even appeared in the trailer for the first season of With Love, Meghan.

In today’s clip, Lilibet — dressed in pink pajamas — walks up to the framed photo of Guy, which had been tied with a white box ribbon, and tenderly kisses the dog’s face. The moment struck many fans as both intimate and surprising, given the Sussexes’ ongoing efforts to protect their children’s privacy since stepping away from royal duties and relocating to California in 2020. Meghan herself has spoken publicly about that decision, telling CBS: “Our kids are young. They’re three and five. They’re amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”
