Raising Children with Grounded Values

Markle continues to highlight her family’s hands-on lifestyle through social media. Her children, Archie and Lilibet, are shown participating in gardening and other chores, reflecting a deliberate effort to keep them connected to everyday values, despite their royal lineage.

In her June 17 appearance on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Markle spoke about one of the family’s weekend rituals designed to teach responsibility. “We grow a lot of veggies. We sometimes do a little farmer’s market stand… There’s a cost and a price for things, and I think that’s key for children to understand, especially children who are very lucky to have a home that has privilege,” she said, according to InStyle.

Markle on Authenticity and Letting Go of Royal Expectations

During the same podcast episode, Markle touched on the theme of authenticity, contrasting it with the performative nature of royal life. Reflecting on her now-viral Baby Mama Dance video, she said, “That was four years ago, so it’s also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life – a real, authentic, fun life.”

She added, “You have to be so authentically the role model and the example of confidence, self-forgiveness, kindness, fun — all of those things, and you can’t fake that.”

A Life of Balance and Choice

While the Sussexes have retained their titles, they’ve opted to raise their children away from the spotlight. Prince Harry has reportedly said that Archie and Lilibet will have the freedom to decide their own paths, including whether to embrace royal duties.

For now, Meghan seems content balancing her roles as both a nurturing homemaker and a savvy entrepreneur. Through her words and actions, she continues to champion a life that’s grounded, joyful, and entirely her own.
