She continued: “I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day,” and Kate simply answered: “Fine.”
Later, when Harry returned home, he said he found Meghan crying on the floor. The next day, Kate reportedly came by with flowers and a note to apologize for the situation.
Recently, however, a royal staff member has stepped forward with new claims about what really happened, reigniting public interest in the incident.

All of this comes from a new biography by Tom Quinn called Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants. According to one staff member, the media got one major detail wrong at the time.
“I can tell you that all the papers and commentators got this wrong. The truth is, like with many family disagreements — between sisters, brothers, or in-laws — both sides were genuinely upset,” the staffer reportedly said.
This refers to the incident where Meghan and Harry denied claims that Kate was the one in tears, insisting it was actually Meghan who was left crying.
The staff member added, “During the talks about the bridesmaid dresses, Meghan said some things she regretted, and so did Kate. It was just one of those emotional moments.
“Both women were crying their eyes out!”
However, someone involved in making the dresses had a completely different take on the situation.

After Harry released his book sharing the alleged text exchanges, Ajay Mirpui — the luxury tailor who worked on the bridesmaids’ dresses involved in the dispute — told the Daily Mail he wasn’t aware of any drama.
“If anything happened in the background, it didn’t happen in front of me. But yes, weddings are stressful at the best of times — and especially one at this high level; you’ve got to respect that,” he said.
He added that there were some last-minute issues, which are pretty common at weddings. “They were faced with a problem like anyone gets at a wedding, with last-minute hitches. I can understand why anybody would be upset if the dresses weren’t fitting — it’s nerve-wracking.”
