King Charles is tipped to mark Meghan Markle’s upcoming birthday with a polite gesture, despite ongoing tensions within the royal family. As Meghan prepares to turn 44 on August 4, speculation is growing about whether her in-laws will acknowledge the day.

A message from the king and queen

Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for the family between 2004 and 2011, believes King Charles and Queen Camilla will not let the occasion pass without acknowledgment.

“As far as the royal family congratulating or wishing a happy birthday, I believe the king and queen will wish her a happy birthday,” he said. “When it comes to politeness and manners, they are at the top of the game. I still think they will honour it.”

While Prince William is reportedly unlikely to reach out personally, Harrold suggested that Catherine, Princess of Wales, may send a short message on behalf of them both.
