Jack Royston pointed out that by not addressing it sooner, the situation escalated, and they ended up not protecting Kate. While they thought they were shielding her, the media attention only worsened, and she wouldn’t feel protected.
Other experts believe the entire thing has been fishy from the start.

Christopher Andersen, author of The King, believes that if Kate is truly recovering as the Palace claims, she should have made a public appearance, even if just to smile for the cameras. He noted that royal family members always maintain appearances, citing Queen Elizabeth’s ability to keep working despite health issues. Andersen speculated that while Kate might prefer privacy, her prolonged absence has sparked curiosity about the real situation.
Daniela Elser believes that the TMZ photo hides a deeper story.
“With these new images, it’s depressing that it looks a lot like Kate felt she had to let her face be seen in public to stem the tide of delirium. There is something just a bit screwy and upsetting and off-kilter about the internet rabble being able to alter the plan for the 42-year-old’s recovery.”

She argued that Prince William should take responsibility for the situation he helped create, instead of leaving it to Kate, who had significant surgery and was recovering in the hospital.
Elser questioned whether the photo showed a woman ready to return to public life or just another display for the public.
She concluded that, despite the luxury, true freedom and independence might not exist, even with a grand estate.
