Princess Catherine’s return to public life came with a powerful speech on early childhood—and a subtle yet deeply emotional detail in her outfit that immediately captured royal watchers’ attention.
A Meaningful Return to the Spotlight
The Princess of Wales, 43, delivered a keynote address at the Future Workforce Summit at Salesforce Tower in London, hosted by the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood. This marked her first public speech since beginning treatment for cancer, diagnosed in March 2024.
Dressed in a tailored Roland Mouret suit with a ruffled white blouse, black pumps, and understated makeup, Catherine completed her look with Mappin and Webb diamond drop earrings and a black Smythson tote.
But it was the cluster of sentimental rings on her left hand that sparked a wave of admiration online.

The Sentimental Ring Stack
“Kate’s ring stack!!! Soooo stunning,” one fan wrote. “Classy lady. I see 3 eternity bands and the sapphire ring,” another added.
On her finger were four deeply symbolic rings:
- her famous sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring once worn by Princess Diana,
- her Welsh gold wedding band,
- an Annoushka eternity ring believed to be a gift after Prince George’s birth,
- and a sapphire-and-diamond Cartier eternity ring first noticed earlier this year.
The engagement ring—featuring a 12-karat Ceylon sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds—was given to her in 2010 when William proposed, saying the gesture was his “way of keeping her sort of close to it all.” Her wedding ring was crafted from the same gold used for Queen Elizabeth II’s band. The newest eternity ring is thought to have been gifted around the time she completed chemotherapy, giving it added emotional weight.
