- 1 kg lemons
- 1.7 kg rock sugar (or honey for a natural option)
- ½ kg lemongrass (chopped)
- ½ kg ginger (thinly sliced)
- 150g coarse sea salt
Preparation:
- Wash all ingredients thoroughly and rinse with alcohol (optional) to remove bacteria.
- Thinly slice the lemons and crush the lemongrass and ginger.
- Layer the ingredients in a clean jar: lemons first, followed by sugar, salt, lemongrass, and ginger. Repeat until full, ensuring the top layer is sugar.
- Let it sit for a few hours until the sugar dissolves. Stir a few times over the next few days.
- Seal the jar and store it for at least 6 months before use.
How to Use:
- Take a spoonful of the mixture and dissolve it in warm water.
- Mix with herbal teas, coconut water, or fresh lemon juice.
