The beloved media mogul, who has been a beacon of inspiration and resilience, is currently battling a stomach virus, her rep revealed on Instagram. News of Winfrey’s illness comes just as she was set to share exciting news with her audience, sparking concern and curiosity about her condition.
Oprah Winfrey recently revealed on Instagram that she will be joining CBS Mornings to reveal her latest book club selection. Unfortunately, the popular host fell ill with stomach upset over the weekend. Gayle King intervened to explain her absence to Winfrey.

“Ms. Winfrey is recovering from a stomach virus and, on the advice of her doctor, received an IV for dehydration,” a spokesperson for the CNN star said in a statement Tuesday. “He is resting and feeling better every day.
Winfrey told her best friend and journalist in a video chat shared on Gayle King’s Instagram page that she “couldn’t keep enough water down to stay hydrated,” prompting her to seek medical attention.
King assured the audience that Winfrey would eventually be “fine” despite her health issues.
“I hope they don’t get mad at me for sharing that detail,” she added.
During a joint interview with the New York Times in January, Winfrey and King touted their strengths and talked about the reasons for their close friendship.
