Pregnancy is one of life’s most enchanting experiences, but it can also bring its share of challenges.
Whether you’re the one expecting or someone close to you is, feelings of anxiety and nervousness are often present.
And it might be the same for animals!
Luckily for this golden retriever, she had compassionate animal lovers by her side, ensuring everything went smoothly after she was found on the street.
When Rosie the golden retriever arrived at Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue, she was pregnant with a noticeable belly. The volunteers there were relieved that this sweet golden retriever mix had been rescued in time to receive the necessary care.
Katie and John Black, a couple with huge hearts for dogs, welcomed Rosie into their home before the big day.
Since beginning their dog fostering journey, the couple has cared for over 20 dogs.

This time, they were looking forward to meeting the puppies growing in Rosie’s belly.
The couple expected a large litter because of Rosie’s size. However, they were completely unprepared for what happened when Rosie went into labor. It was unlike anything they had ever witnessed!
Rosie gave birth to four beautiful, healthy puppies, but none of them resembled their mother at all.

“Not quite what we were expecting. Our foster dog and golden mix gave birth yesterday. To baby cows,” Katie shared on Reddit.
As it turned out, the golden retriever puppies weren’t as “golden” as one might expect. They actually looked more like little cows!
