The kitten, now named “Chippy” in honor of the CHIP officers who saved her, was brought into the care of the SPCA, where she recovered and was placed up for adoption.

As if the story wasn’t inspiring enough, there was also a heartwarming update that gives the rescue a true happy ending.

One week after the rescue, Officer Moore stopped by the SPCA… and asked to adopt Chippy!

Video posted by the shelter shows the adorable cat in the arms of Moore and his two children, on her way to her new forever home.
